THE GOOD LIFE OF A GOOD SONG AT 76 YEARS OLD -- 50 OF THEM AS A POP STAR -- TONY BENNETT STILL LOVES GREAT TUNES.(PREVIEW)

Tony Bennett has been singing the Great American Songbook for more than a half-century.

That's right: Bennett scored two back-to-back No. 1 records -- ``Because of You'' and Hank Williams' ``Cold Cold Heart'' -- back in 1951, and he shows no signs of slowing down at the age of 76.

Bennett -- who plays the Palace Theatre tonight for the recently refurbished theater's spring gala event -- has devoted himself in recent years to paying tribute to many of his own musical influences.
