Uf4US$600 MILLION COKER PLANT.

The St. Croix-based oil refinery Hovensa will spend US$600 million to construct a new coker plant, reports CANA (February 13, 2000):

VP of Human Resources Alex Moorehead said that at least 200 new jobs would be created initially as a result of the construction which will start in April. The plant, to be built by Bechtel Corp., will be used to convert pitch, the least valuable portion of crude oil, into higher value products. The Bank of America will finance the project.
